The Occoquan Watertrail League, OWL, in cooperation with the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, will unveil an exciting new family fitness program, Healthy Paddles, at National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 19 at Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton, Virginia. The free event will run from 10 am to 3 pm.

On May 19, hiking and paddling professionals from REI and LL Bean will be on hand to lead family hikes and paddles. Health professionals will also be on site to help families establish outdoor exercise goals. OWL will be handing out maps and information on local trails, water trails, hiking and paddling groups and events, and where to rent and purchase equipment.

Representatives will be in attendance from Prince William County Park Authority, Unity Health, Inova, the American Pediatric Association, The National Institute of Health, The National Park Trust, The National Environmental Education Foundation, Prince William Trails and Streams Coalition, Chesapeake Paddlers Association and other health and outdoor organizations.
